Shakshuka Sandwich
Shakshuka Sandwich

Definitely a huge yes to this place! It does food justice.

Any time we go, the tables are almost always at capacity, yet most of the time there are still one or two left, which has been nice. I have seen people wait, though, and I hear it gets more crowded for brunch, but we’ve tended to go for dinner, which is a calmer time. It’s dimly lit (for night time) and cozy. Nice atmosphere. Wooden tables and homey vibe.

Wait staff is very pleasant and attentive. They always answer questions in a very friendly manner. Water glasses are constantly refilled and it’s not too hard to get a hold of someone when you need them. They also strike a good balance of leaving you alone and not hovering.

They serve rosemary bread to start with a side of cucumber and mint lebne. Super delicious and it really adds a little something to the entire meal. Sets you off on the right foot to enjoy the rest, which we always do. I’ve never seen a table not gobble up the entire loan of bread. Just a note, it’s served with a drizzle of olive oil, which you can decline if you want. The bread is sufficiently moist as it is, so it’s up to your preference. Tell them ahead of time, though. Some of our favorites:

Avocado Sandwich
Avocado Sandwich

Shakshuka sandwich – gruyere, egg, Moroccan tomato sauce on challah bread. This is fantastic. The egg is hard boiled, which is different than in a classic shakshuka dish. The challah bread is definitely less sweet than normal challah, which is exactly how it should be for this sandwich. An almost savory challah if you will. I only wish there was more of the tomato sauce because it was delicious. It comes toasted and warm. I really recommend it, especially if you’ve never had shakshuka before. It’s a nice introduction to the dish, particularly if you’re not a fan of runny eggs and want to experience the other flavors of a shakshuka. It comes with a side salad.

Avocado sandwich – hummus, tomatoes, shredded carrots, and avocado on whole wheat bread. I added onions to it. Comes toasted. This sandwich is so fresh, clean, and delicious. They really don’t skimp with the veggies inside, either, which is a huge plus. All of the ingredients are good quality and at their prime. The hummus is homemade (not flavored hummus, but classic) and better quality than most. It’s thick and creamy. Also comes with a side salad.

Vegetarian Couscous
Vegetarian Couscous

Vegetarian Couscous – slowly cooked root vegetables, garbanzo beans, black currants. So healthy, hearty, flavorful and delicious. Such a comforting dish to get, I’d highly recommend it

This is definitely the place to go if you want real clean and fresh food with tons of flavor. It’s healthy and you just feel great eating everything. Perfect little corner restaurant to enjoy with a small group. It’s the type of place you’ll keep going back to once you’ve tried it. Love it.

Prices are also fantastic, but remember it’s cash only.
