Grimaldi’s

Classic with Onions

Such average pizza and no one seems to realize because they don’t know the actually good pizza places!

Nothing wrong with the food, but definitely nothing actively right.

Saturday around lunch time only a few tables were busy (and remained that way throughout) at the 2nd avenue location. I had called before and asked if there was normally a wait at this location and he said it’d been pretty empty for weeks. This is definitely not the case at the other locations, so expect long lines.

We were 2 people and ordered the classic large with onions. The mozzarella cheese is so.not.good.quality! It is very rubbery and mediocre. The tomato sauce, while fine, has almost no flavor. No spices, just bland. The crust is ok – pretty tasteless.

We ate the entire thing, picking off some of the cheese, which was just not worth eating, and everything was fine. But it was just fine. Nothing bad and it filled the stomach, but wouldn’t go back of my own choosing. Way better pizza places to go. Trust me.

Also, there was zero heating at the time (in the middle of January on a cold day) and even men were keeping their coats on throughout their meals. Made the pizza get cold really quickly.
