Harry’s Italian

We got a large Margherita pizza (round pie, not square). I’ve had their square pizza before and I’m just so not into it. The only square pizza I like is the one that’s essentially an inch-high of bread with a little bit of cheese and tomato sauce on top (the thick Sicilian kind). Harry’s square pizza kind of reminds me of the pizza you could get at a chain delivery place.

Anyway, we asked for it lightly done, but it was unfortunately pretty burnt. They did, however, immediately make us a new one. I have to say that customer service here is great! When we ate the pizza, it was decent. If a friend really wanted to go, I could go back, but I wouldn’t of my own accord. Their round pizza is definitely not great pizza and there are so many more delicious, authentic NY-style pizza places around that I would certainly never count this as one of them.

The dough is OK. Not enough tomato sauce at all. It’s pretty dry. And the mozzarella is rubbery – seems like store-bought, non-fresh. That being said, totally edible and nothing actively wrong with it. Just nothing really right about it.

We also got a Mixed Green salad, which was very underwhelming. A pile of greens with a few cherry tomatoes on top. Eh.

Huge plus though is the outdoor seating and the ambiance inside is nice, too. It’s not too crowded on weekends because not many people are down in FiDi, but during the week it’s certainly bustling for both lunch and dinner. And customer service does count in my book, which I do again have to say was fantastic here.
