First Visit – Drinks:

This place was pretty packed on a Saturday evening. Huge crowd in the bar section, all the seats and counter space taken, so you really had to squeeze in tight. We came here for the margaritas. They are ok. Not great.

Classic margarita – lime juice, white tequila, and agave nectar, but I requested triple sec in lieu of the agave nectar. This makes it a lot more sour, whereas the agave makes it more palatable to a wider group of people because it’s less tart. Good, but not great. Quite expensive for how small it is. They have two sizes, one is a normal, the other is normal and a half. The large only saves you 50p proportionally, but if you only want one and a half drinks, it saves you the trouble of ordering two normals (which would be significantly more expensive) and then only having some of the second one.

Peach margarita – they have several fruit margarita options: raspberry, strawberry, peach, and mango. Ordered the peach and it was a huge disappointment. No peach flavor at all – we really wouldn’t’ve known if it didn’t say it on the menu. The fruit margaritas have the option to get it frozen, which makes it about twice the size of classic margarita, but no different in alcohol content, so the drink itself is quite weak.

Pear and vanilla margarita – interesting, better than the peach. This one only comes on the rocks.

Overall, this place is quite expensive for nothing great. No real need to come back, I’d likely try somewhere else next time.

Second Visit – Dinner:

Sauces
Sauces

We’d come here for drinks previously and they were just ok, but we had heard great things about the burrito and were in the mood for Mexican. Well it started out a bit odd because when we walked in (no reservation), we were told it would be an hour wait for a table for two people, but there was no one waiting. We asked why it would be an hour and were told “because the tables are full” to which we naturally replied, yes but why are you certain it would take an hour for any table to finish? She insisted it would. We took our chances and decided to wait, thinking there was no way this would happen. Sure enough, we were right. 5 minutes later (no, literally) we were seated.

We were deciding between a chicken and veggie burrito and on the recommendation of our waitress went with the veggie option. There was really nothing right about the burrito. First, as much as I like green beans and broccoli, they do not work in a burrito. Neither does the cauliflower. Those are odd veggies to have. Next, it was dry, the black beans were bland, the tortilla was hard, the guacamole was just ok, and it was covered in some melted cheese. Nothing about the burrito meshed or was worth eating. Nothing terrible, but certainly nothing I would even call good. We left, very glad that we’d only ordered a burrito to share instead of one burrito each as we normally would (we had wanted to give it a try before committing).

We did appreciate the fact that they gave complimentary chips and salsa, but having now tried both the bar and restaurant, we won’t be back.
