Medium Margherita Pizza
Medium Margherita Pizza

I’m going to give thisĀ 2.5 stars for now, but I will go back to try it again and perhaps update the rating because I’m uncertain as to whether the rating should be much lower or higher.

Let me begin by saying service was TERRIBLE.

Here’s the thing. We got a medium margherita pizza and asked for it lightly done. That is all we ordered. Nothing else. It took more than 45 minutes and checking in with our waitress 2 times before we got our pizza. Only about 5 other tables were filled during this time, except for the apparently large party going on in the back. When we checked in with our waitress, she informed us that “40 pizzas are ahead of yours because there is a large party in the back” and that she doesn’t “have time to check on the status of our order” because she’s really busy.

Yes, she actually said she does not have time to check. Verbatim.

Now here’s the thing. First, I do not believe that any restaurant would be stupid enough to actually make an entire large party’s meal (I believe she said 40+ people) before getting started on anyone else’s meal in the restaurant. That does not make any sense. If that were the case, someone would need to say listen you’re not going to get your order for an hour. But that would be the dumbest policy ever.

Second, if a waitress actually says she does not have time to help me, I’m confused about what the point of her is. The other problem with our experience was that since we had asked for it lightly done and were inquiring about the status of our pizza, what we ended up receiving was a cold and literally raw pizza. You actually had to be there to really believe it.

The crust was somewhat cooked, but 100% white. The inside was honestly, truly dough – as in if you pulled the bread apart it looked like melted cheese. Also the mozzarella was completely unmelted – not even a bit. And the tomato sauce was actually cold.

Under normal circumstances, we would have sent it back. But honestly we were (1) starving, (2) thought it might take another 45 minutes, which we just couldn’t do, and (3) thought it would come back completely burnt/overdone.

So why am I giving this place evenĀ 2.5 stars? Because I really think this wouldn’t happen there on a normal day. If we had a better and more polite waitress, if there hadn’t’ve been such a huge party, and if our pizza hadn’t’ve come out as raw dough, I think this place could be great. I am really trying to be fair here before completely disparaging the place.

Even though there was that cold, dough taste the entire time, we really felt like the pizza, if done right, could be really good and worth coming back to again.

We will give this place another try.

For the record, our waitress was very loudly complaining about the couple seated next to us for giving a bad tip. Hmm, I wonder why everyone is giving her a bad tip.
