Mikey Likes It is an ice cream shop with two locations: the original LES spot and the new Harlem spot. They have a relatively small selection of about 10 hard serve flavors, each of which is permanent. They rarely introduce new flavors, so you can always count on the flavor you want being there. Though there aren’t many flavors, all of the classics are covered (“Ice Ice Baby” is a triple vanilla and “Truffle Shuffle” is a double chocolate) and the rest of the flavors are influenced by southern cuisine. There’s the “Brady Bunch” which is double banana pudding ice cream with crushed vanilla wafers and Vienna Fingers. And there’s the “Southern Hospitality” which is pecan pie ice cream with praline pecans and pecan pie chunks.

You can also order other ice cream dishes like a waffle ice cream sandwich, a milkshake, or an egg cream. While the ice cream is decent, I can’t say it’s one of the best. The ice cream is not as rich and creamy as others and the flavors are a bit weak. The chocolate ice cream seemed very much like vanilla ice cream with a bit of chocolate syrup mixed into it as opposed to a pure chocolate ice cream. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend actively seeking out the place. There are a number of superior ice creams like Morgenstern’s, Oddfellows and Davey’s a short walk away.
