Poppy Seed Bagel

Great bagel shop that knows how to make bagels properly and does so in house and throughout the day so the bagels are always fresh. I love that you can actually see the staff constantly rolling, boiling, and baking the bagels in front of you.

Saturday around 1 pm, crowded, but line moves fast enough. I’d say that during peak hours, it takes about 10-15 minutes to pay for your bagel and receive it from the time you order. Lots of people take the bagels to go, but there are plenty of seats if you want to stay and dine in and turnover is pretty quick, so even if the tables were taken, you probably wouldn’t have to wait long.

I love that they have so many bagel options and even more cream cheeses.

Egg Bagel

Got my favorite, the egg bagel, with wasabi cream cheese, red onions, and tomatoes. Untoasted. The bagel is big and soft with great flavor. Wasabi cream cheese, which I’ve never had before, really does taste like wasabi, which I appreciate! So many times the flavor of a cream cheese doesn’t actually come through, but at this place it does. This one is a bit spicy, but not too much. It was delicious. My only suggestion would be to improve the quality of the tomatoes – not as fresh as they could’ve been, and they do skimp on the extras you add.

Poppy bagel with jalapeno cheddar cream cheese and tomatoes, lightly toasted. Again, great bagel and both the jalapeno and cheddar flavors in the cream cheese come through, so it’s on point. I also appreciated the fact that they didn’t put up a fight about toasting even though they don’t recommend it.

Their most popular bagel is the everything and although I didn’t eat it, I will say it looked like one of the best. It wasn’t overdone, which is a problem with everything bagels in particular, but seemed to have tons of the everything on there, which I’d imagine makes it really flavorful. The only thing that stopped us from getting it was that it has salt on top, which I’d prefer to do without on the bagel. But I could be convinced to try it.

Prices are right and they have a bathroom available to customers.
